Paolo Di Canio announced that his season was over after helping West Ham secure their Premiership status with Saturdays 3-0 win over Southampton.

The Italian striker, who scored the Hammers' second goal, will at last have an operation to cure the sinus problem which has been troubling him for most of the season.

everything there is to know

Home - New west Stand - W.H.U official - Chants (thanks to london Football) - League Table

Here`s just a taster of some of the Hammers news to be found on the itv-football site.

Winterburn and Moncur go west
West Ham will be without Nigel Winterburn and John Moncur for the rest of the season as they face Middlesbrough.

Pearce set for Hammers deal
Veteran defender Stuart Pearce is set to stay at West Ham United beyond his 40th birthday.

Pearce out for season
West Ham defender Ian Pearce will not play again this season, according to the club's doctor.

Redknapp hell-bent on keeping Kanoute

West Ham manager Harry Redknapp insists he does not want to sell want-away striker Frederic Kanoute.

West Ham 3 .v. Southampton 0 att 26,041

We are now 100% safe with one game to play.Joe Cole started the celebrations with his 5th goal of the season,Secondly Di Canio scored his 11th goal this season,But the first since 28th January v Man U.

And deep into injury time Fredi Kanoute finished it of with a header down into the net.Two back heels leading to goals earned Svetoslav Todorov the man of the match, and rightly so..

29 april-A win against city would have 100% ensured our premiership status, and done the exact opposite for City. But a First Half own Goal from Ian Pearce kept city`s dream alive. Now one point from a possible 6 will keep us in the premier next season.Even if other results go against us

`Arrys Viewpoint

''We need a game from di Canio tomorrow,'' said Redknapp. ''If he produces one of his magical performances then he is unstoppable. Paolo can win the game for us and we need him and Freddie Kanoute on form up front, so that we can get a result - we need one from this game.

''I think Paolo would admit that his form this year hasn't been as good as it was last year, when he was absolutely incredible. But he has had a sinus problem which means he hasn't felt so good and he will need a minor operation to put that right in the summer. Paolo still has a couple of years left on his contract so he has an important role to play here.''
